Lots of terms in the industry can be, and often are, interchangeable although there are occasions when sometimes it can be useful to differentiate between certain things. In this instance for example it is not uncommon for a set of doors which act as the main entrance to a building or property to be referred to as “double doors” as opposed to “French doors” and vice versa.
Absolutely. In fact many of our base designs have been created with this very purpose in mind. More commonly called double doors as to differentiate them from French doors, in practice they are exactly the same and it is only the location of the door and perhaps the emphasis on design that set them apart. Our bespoke double doors are a great way to maximise the space, particularly if you have a large entrance to your home. Often found on Georgian era properties with solid panels and a glazed light above, our team will ensure the right design for you and your home.
All of our French doors come equipped with multipoint locking mechanisms which offer enhanced security for your home by distributing any force applied to the door over the various locking points making the effort required for a would be intruder almost prohibitive. In addition to this, we use the highest security barrels available on the market from KABA. These barrels feature several layers of protection to prevent drilling, picking, bumping and extraction, and come with a failsafe preventing forced override. In addition to this, all of our doors can be specified to PAS24 standards.

Our bespoke timber French doors are constructed using sustainably sourced FSC® Certified wood. The timber goes through an extensive process, honed in Scandinavia, before it is used to construct your French door. All of our timber is kiln dried, planed and free of any defects such as knots. Each piece is then glued and laminated together to create an Engineered Timber. It is these incredibly strong and stable sections which are then used to make your French door. Alternatively we are also able to offer many designs and configurations in premium grade aluminium for a durable modern aesthetic.
Yes, all of our timber French doors can be made out of sustainably sourced hardwood, using the same Engineered Timber construction as our FSC® Certified Redwood. We offer both Meranti hardwood French doors as well as oak French doors.
